The Ring Nebula (M57) is a Planetary Nebula in the constellation Lyra.  A show piece of the Northern Sky, 
it is only 1min x 1 1/2 min in apparent angular size.It lies approximately 2,300 ly distance.  The central star
which gave rise to this object is a planet size white dwarf shining at 15th magnitude.
