The Trifid Nebula (M20) is located in the constellation of Sagittarius, 3000LY from Earth. 
Noted for it's three lobed appearance, it is both a red emission nebula and a blue reflection
nebula.  It emits light due to young hot stars at it center.                               (Messier 17)
